Kathy Thompson’s paintings are primarily inspired by the work of such impressionist artists as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, and Franz Marc. Inspired by her study of art history in college, Kathy taught herself to draw and then studied and painted in the studio of Washington D.C. artist Dana Ellyn and is a member of Washington DC’s International Arts and Artists, the D.C. Art Center and Pyramind Atlantic in Silver Spring, Maryland. She is currently working on a series of paintings inspired by lyrics written by Bob Dylan. Her book, "Play a Song for Me," includes her paintings of images inspired by the lyrics of Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man." In addition to painting on canvas, she is an illustrator of children's books. Her home is in Colorado.
